Features of Typeform

1. Form Builder

With this feature, you’re able to build and create beautiful, aesthetically pleasing forms that are relatively easy and fun to make.

How It Works

On your Typeform workspace, click on Create new form, and choose an option on how to create a form. I chose Start from scratch. Name it, select a form type and click on Continue. The next step is to edit how you want your form to be like. Your image and form content is under the Create section; you can select if you want your form to be multiple choice, long text, address/phone number/contact info type of form.

Depending on the type of form you wish to build/create, you can choose its content. At the left side of your screen, click on the + icon beside Content to find a question type. Hover over the new question type, and click on the three dots to either duplicate or delete it.

After adding more fields/content to your form layout, go to Design on the right side of your screen; to design how you want your form to look. Go to the Gallery section to pick out a theme for your form. The majority of the themes are paid and some of the free themes have cool designs. I chose the Spaceboy theme.

Click on Logic to personalize, automatically assign points and add finishing touches. Click on Connect, which will add the right workflow or integrations. When you see your desired workflow, click Connect.

Note: Most integrations will require you to publish your Typeform before it can connect, and most integrations are paid. You can connect integrations or webhooks. Click on share to preview how your form looks like in mobile or desktop view.

You copy the link and share it via (your) different social platforms. Click on Results to have a summary of your forms’ analytics; you have a detailed review of which devices were used and the time taken by respondents to fill them. Click on View to take a look at your form.

2. Survey Builder

With this non-code creative and fun feature, you create surveys that encourage your audience and the public to share more information or leads with you.

How It Works

On your Typeform workspace, click on +create new form, select start from scratch, name your form select the form type to be Research Survey and click on Continue.

You’re under the Create section. Input some survey questions you’d like to have. Under Questions, select the type of form you want – multiple-choice, Ranking, Yes/No, Email, Matrix, Legal, or File Upload among others.

Decide if you want your form to have an image or video by clicking the picture icon beside the image or video.

At the left side of the screen, click on the + icon beside content to find a question type. You can select the number of questions your survey form should have. Edit your questions. Go to the Design section to select a theme for your survey form. A lot of the themes are paid, and some of the free themes come with cool designs. For this survey form, I went with the Filo Fax theme.

Click the Connect section to add an integration or webhook from a number of categories. Most of these integrations will require you to publish your Typeform before you connect like Slack. Click on the Share option/section to preview your link and also view it on the desktop or mobile view.

Click on Results to have a summary of your forms’ performance. Click on View to have a look at it in the final state.

Go to Typeform’s website and click on Templates, a drop-down page is displayed, click on Templates. Scroll down the page to take a look at the choices you have. The templates are under categories including Remote Working, Marketing Templates, Customer Success, Product and the like.

Select any template of your choice – I chose Generate leads and selected the online registration form template. Click on Preview template to have a tour to see if its what you like, if its not go for another. Select use template. Just like the first two features, make edits to your template by editing the form questions.

To add more questions, click on the + icon beside Content and to change your question, click on Type under Question.

Note: Your form questions don’t have to be the same depending on what you need to do with the responses. Meaning, page 1 can be a short text, page 2 can be ranking, and page 3 can be an opinion scale.

Go to the Design section to pick out and theme for your form. You can choose a font type, or colour choice for the responses/answers. I went from the Splash mud theme.
